Development Action Plan for Renewable Energy Resources - Needed for yesterday!

On 25th May 2010 Climate Coalition organized a press conference “Development Action Plan for Renewable Energy Resources - Needed for yesterday!”. Robert Cyglicki (Greenpeace), Katarzyna Michałowska-Knap (Institute for Renewable Energy), Małgorzata Krzyżanowska (Department of the Environment, Marshals Office of Mazovian Voivodship) and Zbigniew Karaczun (Polish Ecological Club - Mazovian Branch) presented their opinions about the progress of work on the Action Plan.     
Active climate protection as a development chance for Poland

On 27th April the Senate Committee on Environment and the Institute for Sustainable Development organized a conference „Climate Protection as a Chance for the Economy and Society”.     
Media with climate - climate awards presented to journalists!

The ceremony of finalizing “Media with climate” competition for journalists organized by Polish Ecological Club Mazovian Branch on behalf of Climate Coalition took place on 3rd March. Representatives of media, public authorities and NGOs gathered together in KOM restaurant in Warsaw to be presented with the results. The competition took place under the auspices of Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, the Mayor of the City of Warsaw.     
Will there be a Polish Climate Act

Thanks to the hospitality of the British Ambassador in Poland, Mr Ric Todd, Climate Coalition and British Embassy organized on January 27th a meeting dedicated to a discussion on the need for a Climate Change Act in Poland.     
MPs know that climate change is caused by human activities

Results of a questionnaire carried out by Polish Ecological Club Mazovian Branch among incumbent Members of the Lower House of Polish Parliament from different parliamentary fractions show that almost 80% of them believe that climate change exists and results from human activities. Does it indicate a beginning of good times for Polish economy and climate policy?
