The ceremony of finalizing “Media with climate” competition for journalists organized by Polish Ecological Club Mazovian Branch on behalf of Climate Coalition took place on 3rd March. Representatives of media, public authorities and NGOs gathered together in KOM restaurant in Warsaw to be presented with the results. The competition took place under the auspices of Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, the Mayor of the City of Warsaw.
It selected the most reliable and interesting media works that touched upon climate change and protection. It attracted considerable interest among journalists. There were more than 70 media works submitted from across Poland, published in newspapers, news and thematic websites, radio and television from October to December last year.
“It proves that journalists start to acknowledge importance of the problem. Climate change will bring changes also to us - Polish industry, agriculture and society. We need media involvement in order to properly prepare ourselves to these changes - said Ph. d. Zbigniew Karaczun, the President of Polish Ecological Club Mazovian Branch, expert of Climate Coalition.
