GAP Poland joins Climate Coalition!

We are happy to announce that Climate Coalition has a new member. Foundation GAP Poland (Fundacja GAP Polska) is affiliated with the Global Action Plan International, a network of several national organizations GAP, whose purpose is to motivate and strengthen citizens in making choices in everyday life of consumer-friendly environment.
GAP's programs since 1997 has been inspiring "ordinary people", including children, youth and adolescents, the transition from the role of the viewer to become active participants in their efforts for sustainable development and the conscious consumer attitudes.
The Foundation runs a nationwide program of "eko-teams", coordinated and implemented in selected regions by the coordination centers: Teacher Training Centers, the Foundation for the Development of Democracy, National Parks, utility companies, environmental education centers. These centers provide support to schools that incorporate a 6-month program of lifestyle, train instructors, working with local authorities, municipal companies and enterprises in order to gain support for local campaigns. Number of participants in the program is growing exponentially, and the school year 2008-2009 involved more than 18,500 students and preschool children.
The Foundation was awarded by the Ford Foundation, the National Conservation Award for the creation of local coalitions to promote respect for natural resources and the Japanese Sasakawa Environmental Prize of Peace Foundation.
